Reasons for Gender Disparity in Education
Reasons are complex and many to list some of them:

•  Uneducated parents
•  Irrelevant education
•  A need for child labour and apprenticeship with in family farms/business
•  Direct costs of fees, books, and uniforms.
•  General resistance to change
•  A desire to retain a separate ethnic identity
•  Limited employment opportunities
•  Low economic returns to those who attended schools
•  Lack of accessible and acceptance schools
•  Concern for safety especially adolescent girls
•  Girls are married away and join their husband's family
•  More dropout due to discrimination and mistreatment
•  Educated girls find it difficult to get match for marriage.
